you had time

...so if you didn't know, major congrats to joey, who won 50,200 in total on jeop!

that means he made this page,
and hopefully means he and lovely wife heather can downpayment on a condo/go traveling/spend it all on snocaps.

symbolic of halloween, a zombie-ish machine of knowledge won yesterday's show. she was nicer and actually fell off her podium today as she won an inordinate amount of money, so i like her fine.

give JB some props!

seriously though, i don't get why he bet it all. (i never get why the 2nd place person ever bets it all.) think this through with me: you knew she was going to bet enough to be just over double his score. so, let's say he had 14,000 and she had 18,000. so, you know she's going to bet at least 10,001 (the first place person always does). ok, so there are 4 possible scenarious with the result... 1) they both get it right, 2) they both get it wrong, 3) he right/she wrong, and finally, 4) she right/he wrong. ok, so if he bets all of it, he can only win in scenario #3. BUT, if he would have bet 0 (or anything up to 6001 if there were a 3rd player in the mix), he stands to win in scenarios #2 AND #3. this doubles your chances of winning. what's the reasoning behind betting it all if you're in second going into final? i never understood this...

oh, but i also wanted to give "props", as tara requested. you were awesome, and the only reason why she beat you was b/c she bet it all on that double (which, i have to say, is damn risky for a woman, who are traditionally way too cautious on the show in general). congrats, and great job!

he said he was watching her and she was erratic on her betting (during daily doubles and stuff) and couldn't predict what she'd do. fair enough.

my guess?: it all seems rational at home.

Unfortunatly I don't know that he'll be on that list...as it appears that doesn't take into acount thrid and second place cash. I could be wrong. His total take was 48K. However he is at tops on our list.

I love how one friend of ours said "you just ran into someone that couldn't be beaten" which is so not true.

And Kel; when you and I get a one-in-god-knows-how-many-million chance of being on the most popular gameshow of all time, I'm sure we'll make all the right decisions! YEEESH. (I love you)

And also let's not forget a major reason for betting it all, good old fashioned american made GREED...nothing wrong with that, last I checked it was the cornerstone of America. Hang on let me check again...yup...greed.

oh no! that sucks about the list.

on greed: yes, maybe, but i like to think of it as "flair". if you think you're on your way out, go big. i suppose...?

this blog has brought me happiness because worlds colliding is consistently entertaining.

Congrats to Joey on what is definitely a "win" regardless of how the last show turned out, and thanks tara d. for bringing the worlds together!

In googling around for more info, I came across this forum where people who are *seriously* into Jeopardy discuss the game:

...talk about another world!
